NTI- Stop Grinding Your Teeth!
The NTI is a device that is made to help with severe tooth grinding and clenching. It is a small acrylic device that attaches to the upper front teeth with a short ramp to contact the lower front teeth separating the remaining teeth from contact. This helps the lower jaw to seat itself in the proper position in the skull. This takes pressure off the dentition by removing interfering contacts and damaging biting forces. After an initial wearing period an occlusal adjustment is performed. The adjustment requires minor reshaping of the tooth structure to gain space or change an angle of slide.
TheraSnore- Concerned About Snoring or Sleep Apnea?
The Adjustable TheraSnore is an oral appliance that is fabricated in our office without the need for models, impressions, or lab work. It positions the jaw to open the airway.
Oral Cancer Exam
We use a non-invasive brush biopsy procedure to indentify potential cancer cells and we screen oral tissue with Invizalite for early cancer detection. Both procedures are accurate and are a cost effective cancer screen.
Tissue Conditioning
The process of improving the physiological make up of oral tissue and making gums healthy enough for comfortable denture wear. There is a dough like dental plastic placed inside of the dentures. This plastic is especially designed to remain moldable at mouth temperature and to allow the tissue to restore itself to a healthy condition.
Dry Mouth?
90% of dry mouth cases are caused by prescribed medications. This affects millions of Americans. It results in restricted swallowing and eating comfortably, alters taste, increases susceptibility to oral infections, interferes with sleep, difficulty in wearing dentures, increases tooth decay, leads to ginigivitis, and results in bad breath. The use of an over the counter product such as Biotene can correct many of these issues. (AGD 2006) Biotene samples can be obtained in our office.
